HIDDEN DRAGON'S 1ST FOAL BEATS THE GUN

Lyndhurst Stud’s exciting young Danehill (USA) stallion Hidden Dragon has his first foal on the ground after Board Walk Queen delivered a beautiful bay filly earlier this week.

A Group winning sprinter in Hong Kong, Hidden Dragon was in keen demand in his first season covering 158 mares and with 90% fertility has taken to his new career like a duck to water.

Such was his fertility that Hidden Dragon achieved 100% positive tests of his first 50 mares covered, guaranteeing a large number of early foals including this gorgeous first arrival (pictured below right) .

Bred by Lyndhurst Stud, the filly is the first living foal of the winning Filante mare Board Walk Queen, who is closely related to legendary Hong Kong sprinter Silent Witness, the winner of 18 races including back-to-back wins in the Group One HK International Sprint.

Hidden Dragon raced exclusively in Hong Kong winning six of his 22 starts from age two to five, his best win coming in the Group Three Chinese Club Challenge Cup.

He was an effective competitor at stakes level and boasts the distinction of having run the legendary Silent Witness to less than a length during his phenomenal 17 run winning streak.

Hidden Dragon met and defeated the likes of Cape of Good Hope, Great Delight, River Dancer, Elegant Fashion, Super Kid, The Duke, Bowman's Crossing and Planet Ruler – all big race winners whose form has stood up around the world.

A $700,000 purchase for Anton Koolman Bloodstock from the draft of Tyreel Stud at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Hidden Dragon was trained throughout his career by leading conditioner Tony Cruz.

“I loved training Hidden Dragon,” he said. “He had a positive attitude, speed, and a constitution that all trainers dream about. Had he not been injured he would certainly have been a Hong Kong International Group One horse and I was looking forward to travelling with him internationally.”

Hidden Dragon was purchased by Anton Koolman for long time Hong Kong based clients and he still manages the retained shares and nominations on their behalf with nominations available by contacting Anton Koolman on 0414 888 888.

Hidden Dragon is standing this spring at Lyndhurst Stud at a fee of $8,800.
