Danedina Heading to Victoria After SA Romp
Stakes performed filly Danedina will head to Melbourne for black type races following a brilliant first up win in the MIMP Connecting Solutions Handicap (1100m) at Morphettville today.

Ridden confidently by Chad Lever, Danedina sat off the speed for much of the race before coming with a brilliant sprint in the home straight.

So fast was she finishing the daughter of Danehill Dancer was able to draw clear and beat Get Set by a length. Esprit De Roses, a last start winner, was a similar margin back in third place.

Having her first run since an eye catching second in the listed SA Stakes at the same track in April, Danedina broke her maiden status in brilliant style.

Kavanagh, in Melbourne where he saddled up Devil Moon to win the Group Two Stocks Stakes, confirmed the filly would be heading east.

"I've always had the plan to bring her to Melbourne and after that performance she'll be on the float to come over," Kavanagh commented.

"She's always shown nice ability and I'm confident she will measure up here (in Melbourne)."

Kavanagh said the filly would be aimed at any of a number of stakes events for three-year-old fillies over the carnival.

Bred by the late Ian Barton, Danedina was purchased by senior part owner Robin Stutley for $48,000 from the 2006 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale at Morphettville. The filly from just three starts has won over $35,000.
