Coolmore’s triple Group One winner Oratorio (IRE) provided the highlight at the inaugural Inglis First Season Sire Showcase for weanlings when his striking bay filly from Rainscene fetched $300,000 to the bid of bloodstock agent Anton Koolman.
Consigned for sale by Coolmore as Lot 37, the filly is a three-quarter sister to Group Three placed Chinamora and her dam Rainscene is a half-sister to Group Three winner and stellar producer Procrastinate, the dam of five-time Group One winner Laisserfaire and stakes-winners Foreplay and Personify.
She is the second weanling sired by Oratorio to be sold for upwards of $300,000, with a colt from Mistress Lili making $310,000 for Ilala Stud when knocked down to Damon Gabbedy of Belmont Bloodstock at the recent Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.

A magnificent looking son of champion sire Danehill, Oratorio (pictured above) overcame a broken pelvis as a young horse to win six races, three of them Group One, his efforts earning high praise from trainer Aidan O’Brien, who has sent a number of his own broodmares to Oratorio in Ireland.
Oratorio returns to Coolmore Australia this spring for his third season at a fee of $27,500.
