GREAT IDEA, bought for $110,000 at the Inglis 2002 Easter sales by Anton Koolman, has won impressively on the weekend in Hong Kong.

Trained by Ricky Yin and ridden by Robbie Fradd, Great Idea (by Anabaa from Frisky Lady) won the HK$570,000 JOURNALISM AND MEDIA STUDIES CENTRE HANDICAP (1200m) on the All-Weather track at Sha Tin on Saturday night.

Great Idea was restrained back off the pace from gate seven and was ridden patiently by Fraad in the early stages, settling eighth in the run.

Strawberry Kisses (Glyn Schofield) was setting a very fast pace in front from Supremacy (Douglas Whyte) and South China Ninety (H W Lai) while Great Idea was given time to roll along at a comfortable speed.

Fraad waited until half way down the straight before switching Great Idea off and out to give chase at the 200m.

He finished off very strongly putting in a courageous effort for a neck win from Supremacy with South China Ninety a length and a half away third.
