Hidden Dragon is still on track for the Group I Stradbroke despite an unplaced run on Saturday at Eagle Farm in the Group II Sir Byrne Hart.

The five-year-old stallion ran sixth beaten just over three lengths.

"They ran 46 for the first 800m of the 1400m and he was the only one out of his group who kept going along with the winner Wager.

"They went a thousand miles an hour and it was really set up for the back markers.

""Full credit to Wager to keep going but she was carrying 5kgs less than out bloke and he put in a good effort," said trainer Oliver Koolman.

"Watching the race live, well we were disappointed at first but then Larry (Cassidy) hopped off and gave us our confidence back.

"He'll more than likely run in the BTC Sprint and then in the Stradbroke a fortnight later but that's only if the track is dry.

"If it's a bog track we'll wait until the week after and run him seven days before the Stradbroke.

"He backed up fine last weekend, so that is not a concern and he's pulled up well from the run."

Hidden Dragon (x Ballroom Babe (NZ) (by Citidancer (IRE)) spent all his early career in Hong Kong where he won six and placed on seven occasions from just 17 starts.
