Yes, it is true, and we can say from experience that "When your hot your hot" and "when your not your not". As I referred to in a recent report "The Silent Prayer that broke the drought" we experienced a long frustrating run of 3rd placegetters in recent weeks (7 from 9 runners) before the drought broke on the weekend of 22 & 23 July by Silent Prayer and Shanghai Sally. Well it kept raining this week and so the winners continued. Returnoftheking on Wednesday and now we can boast a Saturday city win. Tolo broke through after his added contribution to the stables list of 3rd placegetters by running two very honest 3rds in his two most recent runs. With a very well timed and patient ride from apprentice Tim Clark, Tolo showed plenty of spirit and determination on a very wet and testing Rosehill track to score his third win. While Tolo seems to be comfortable in the heavy going, we are not convinced it is his ideal surface. He has been most impressive on top of the ground in the past and it is in our opinion it is the way he is ridden that has the biggest bearing on the result. In all of Tolo's better runs he has made his run on the extreme outside of horses. We are backing Tolo up next week at Randwick in a 1600m Class 3 and rain hail or shine, if he gets to the outside to make his run, he can and will repeat the dose.
